In the landscapes of Etne, Skakke Røykeri (smokehouse) invites you to experience norwegian food culture in its most authentic form—where tradition, craftsmanship, and storytelling come together around the fire.
From April to September, small groups of up to 15 guests are welcomed for outdoor experiences that bring you closer to the roots of local life. Here, the focus is on traditional methods of smoking fish and wild game, combined with tastings of locally produced delicacies and stories that connect each flavor to norwegian history and culture. Set in natural surroundings, these moments are informal, social, and grounded in a genuine connection to place and people.
Beyond these intimate experiences, Skakke Smokehouse offers tailor-made culinary events and chef services across Norway. Whether hosted in collaboration with Olalia Mountain Lodge or Grals Cabin in Etne, at your own chosen location, or out in nature, each event is shaped around the setting and the occasion. From fjords and mountains to forests and open landscapes, the team brings both expertise and atmosphere wherever the experience takes place.
Food is at the heart of everything. Every dish is prepared from scratch using high-quality, seasonal ingredients—sourced as locally as possible. Menus are designed individually, whether for a relaxed lunch, a multi-course gourmet dinner, a celebration, or a corporate gathering.
